First - let me state - categorically - that Bozo has never been anti-EU.
I always felt Euro-Unity was a good plan - certainly worth spending a few quid on eurocrats instead of having a third attempt to eradicate european mankind with a megawar.
But this week even the most ardent Europhile must have raised an eyebrow.
In the same breath - our friends the Eurocrats want to pass new rules to prevent countries overspending and printing money and so on and so forth (usual financial sins).
AND
Raising their onw budget by 6%.
Seriously?
Every nation in Europe is pretty much slashing government spending, not trimming - but slashing. With concomitant risks to the social care agenda.
The EU doesnt have a budget that gets spent on any form of social care, looking after the elderly or the poor or the disabled. None.
And while such budgets are under threat in every country in Europe, the Eurocrats, are going to spend 6% more.
This is a total discpnnection from the people of Europe.
It makes me feel like a Daily Mail reader.
Not that I could eat a whole one.
